Reeling In Serenity Fishing Meetup 2026

Join us for our final event of the year!

Reeling in Serenity is hosting a FREE fly fishing meetup in North Georgia. We are going to Frog Hollow, a beautiful private water location on the Chestatee. Thanks to Kenny for hosting us. This event will be barbless hooks only, catch and release with an emphasis on proper release techniques. For any newer angler who comes, we have some seasoned fishers to help support you. Let us know if you need to borrow any gear when you sign up. This is a family friendly property with a small farm and an outhouse.

“There’s something spiritual about the way the light peaks through the trees at dawn, or the way caddis dance over the water right before dusk.”

-Becca Sue Klein, Founder

Reeling in Serenity aims to celebrate life by embracing nature and the spiritual connection that fly fishing has brought so many.

Our Pillars of Recovery

Health

Many relate to the meditative effects moving water has and its ability to decrease stress. Besides the immediate gratification of feeling relaxed on the water, lowering stress can also help you sleep better, decrease levels of anxiety and depression, and improve your physical well-being. It is a total body workout for your arms, back, core, and legs.

Acceptance

As 12-step programs have taught us - we believe acceptance is the answer to all of our problems today. We can only find serenity in our recovery and lives when we accept the people, places, things, or situations that may bother us, as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at that moment. We aim to make this connection for our participants.

Spirituality

We believe that people in recovery can learn from nature how to balance opposing forces - both within ourselves and the world around us. This connection to our own essential nature eliminates negative emotions, elevates one’s consciousness and creates a spirit of caring and commitment for our communities.

Purpose

We believe that the ability to discover deeper meaning in our lives is positively correlated with the amount of time we choose to spend in nature. Nature is a wonderful teacher and guide for finding deeper meaning in our lives. It teaches us to slow down, to be more patient, to know that there is a cycle of life, and a right time for everything.

Community

Being part of a community – a part of something larger than yourself – gives you a sense of purpose, belonging, and inclusion. In recovery, a community provides a lifeline. Those with substance use disorder cannot rely on willpower alone, they need the support of a community to stay clean.

Service

“Always do your part. Give more than you think that you can afford in your time, your talent, and your treasure.”  Service helps build our self-esteem and our confidence. Service instills faith and belief in oneself. The better we feel about ourselves the more likely we will completely care for ourselves emotionally, spiritually, and physically.
